Business at UCLA

Just checking online, and i noticed the only business major is Business Economics?

Is there anything else that is similar or other classes?
And is the anderson school only graduate? so as an undergraduate, you cant study there?

any help would be appreciated.

Biz Econ = Econ and accounting.

Anderson is only for grad students, but the whole accounting portion of Biz Econ and the accounting minor for undergrads is through Anderson.

UCLA is a liberal arts school, not a professional school. Business is a “professional major”, thus no direct business major (only econ or applied econ)

so if i want to do business, does it make sense to come here?

If you can graduate from UCLA with a Business/Econ degree, you will be just fine in the business world.

The Biz-econ is a high quality (and competitive) program. I’d imagine biz-econ graduates do very well in the business world. If you want to go for a pure business degree though you’d have to look elsewhere.

You don’t have to have a quintessential business degree to go into business

^Binks is right. But a biz-econ degree from UCLA is highly reputable, I’ve known people who have landed jobs with the big 4. Keep in mind it’s extremely competitive, and a pretty decent workload.

thanks for all the feedback guys.
Yeah im a possible xc recuit for 2012 from NJ and UCLA has been the school i want to attend to, so i just want to verify this.

go to BERKLEY for biz…not UCLA…ucla sux for biz

Business undergraduate educations everywhere except the Ivy leagues are pretty unrewarding.

UCLA is more than a “liberal art” school…

Cal’s business is great, but UCLA’s biz econ is not far behind…

The question is - what do you want to do afterwards? Even if you don’t know completely yet, research consulting careers, investment banking, etc. to figure out what school will place you best in the recruiting race (or if you want to do a startup, connect you with the best people to launch).
