Business Club

Can someone name some ideas for a good business club to start and the purpose of such a club (i.e. the activities that would be included and service to the school) Thanks.

FBLA Future Business Leaders of America

DECA is the business club at my school, and they run a little store at lunchtime so kids can buy pizza, smoothies, candy, etc., without leaving campus.

All I know is that DECA is an old acronym that they kept after the club was renamed because "DECA" was well-known and the new name's acronym didn't spell a pronounceable word... but it's a national club. I'm not involved, personally, so I can't tell you much.

thanks, but my school already has those two. i'm trying to start something like an investment club? but idk what we'd do in there. suggestions for activities or other clubs would be nice. anyone else?

I'd call it Investment Club-why trip around unrecognizable acronyms??

A similar club at my old school played the stock market-you had $1000 and could pick shares (not necessarily in multiples of 100, maybe like multiples of 5) and watch them grow. The teacher explained how to read the WallStreet Journal, think about the impacts, etc.

Investor Club? Maybe Wall Street club? THink of symbols for stocks, wall street, special names for different aspects of what the subject is. Doesn't have to be completely original.

Shouldn't you be starting a club based on what you're interested in? If you don't have any ideas of what the club should do or what it should be called, why are you starting it?
I would think that people starting clubs are starting a club to get people interested in what the starter likes. If you don't know what you want to do in a club, why bother starting the club at all?

My idea of why you're starting the club: College.

Bussiness Professionals of America is the club at my school. Nationals was SO fun in Orlando and this year its in New York City! I placed 6th nationally in Presentation Team Management and it's so much fun! there are so many events to choose from, so seriously, start a BPA club

Time is for the little-leaguers boy :). The paper used to be ~~ but now it just sucks terribly.

jg6273, thanks a lot for your input. I checked out BPA and it looks pretty fun. I think that might be a very good idea. Thanks. Anyone else?

Bump...

DECA is where it is at.... kind of....
