I'm a transfer student and will most likely pick UCLA biz econ over UCB econ. I was just wondering how hard it is to get the required GPA of 3.5 in Econ 11 and 101? Getting into Cal econ seems easier...

Bottom line, depends on professor. They are curved so a fair percentage will get As. But, they are "weeder classes" so they are hard. If you want it bad enough, it won't be a problem. I got an A+ in both.

I found that in these classes transfers actually did realtivly better. I think they just wanted it more. About half the people that sat up front were transfers (obviously a much higher percentage than the normal UCLA population) and the ones I know all did very well.

Sounds good, so it's definitely possible, not super hard.
I got A's in Calc, Stat, Econ and Accounting classes, so I guess I should be able to get a 3.5 average in those 2 classes?

yea, what dusty said. try to take mcdevitt for either or both classes, he's ace. very fair and straightforward, and you'll learn a lot, though his curve can get pretty competitive because lots of international students love him (because he's math-heavy).
