Which one is better? better in the mean of financial, and real life experience, and difficulty.

Since UCI is a super impacted campus for business admin, so Its quite difficult to get in. What is the second best business school out there? Not business econ. Also B.S degree or B.A degree?

I know ucla = business econ (Super impacted)
UCI = business admin (Super impacted)

UCLA is probably better than UCI. However, it is business economics. That means more math and economics but you still get your accounting/finance classes which are the most important anyways.

I would go for UCB and USC.

USC is probably doable and not as super impacted as the UCLA, UCI, and UCB.

I would also look into UCSB’s econ & accounting also.

UCI,UCR,USC,UCB.

UCB is out of reach for me.
USC is ok for a chance
UCI due to impacted still nervous
and UCR i think i can get in.

How good is UCR business admin?. I know for a fact that is low tier school.

I would consider to do these before UCR:
UCSB’s econ and accounting
UCI’s business econ + accounting minor
UCSD’s econ + accounting minor

Good CSU programs like Cal Poly SLO, CSUN, CSUF, CSULB, and SDSU. I would stick with majoring in accounting though.

After all that, then I would consider going to UCR.

Also UCR, seems like a crappy place to live. So that would be another reason I would not go there.

Wow csu over Uc r??? I don’t want to go to a csu Uc r really that bad?? Uci better rescues me out of this disaster.

Nothing wrong with csu. Where the good firms recruit at and where the school is located [local firms and internships] play a big role to me. If you are concerned about having the UC brand then go to UCR.

There’s nothing wrong with going to a CSU, especially for accounting. UCR has a good business program, probably way better than UCI’s. It’s just that the school is in an unfortunate location. UCI has the advantage of having a lot of big companies you can intern with. I’m not sure if UCR has something comparable.

I’m not leaning fOward to accounting. Very tough decision because Uc r does offer bs and uci offers Ba. If I were an accounting major I would go for csu. Also, I really don’t like riverside, prefer irvine riverside any day.

Who cares about BA vs. BS? No actually cares if it is bs or ba. Your concentration is what matters most.

I would go with accounting. Honestly where ever you go accounting, will be the best major with the most recruitment.

If you going for finance, I wouldn’t go for low tier schools like UCR. Stick to UCLA/UCB/USC. If you don’t get into any, then I wouldn’t even bother going into finance.

^ Im curious about finance not suit for low tier school. I would like to know more reasons why. This would actually help me.

^ he only says that because of the stiff competition for I banking, but if your not into that you will be fine. Also Cal poly or SDSU as far as CSU’s will trump UCR. UCR does not reflect the prestige of UC’s in anyway.

The problem is that a lot of finance careers want to see ibanking or other titles that are tough to get from anywhere besides UCB/UCLA/USC. If you want to do VC/PE/ibanking/Corporate Development/Sales and Trading/Management Consulting/etc. then it really really helps to go to one of the above.

I don’t think it’s really worth it to do finance at anything besides UCB/UCLA/USC unless you plan to not do any of the above careers or you are planning on starting your own business.

ouch!!, So tough, i have so much passion for finance. I have no way to go. :(

If you are able to network and make connections without the school’s help then you will be fine.

But if you can’t, you are better off going to a school where the good firms will be at.

Thx all, so business admin over business econ any day?

^ Depends, but for finance, then yes.
Try to apply to USC’s Marshall as another option :)

No business admin is not always over econ… it truly depends on the school. For HAAS yes(slightly as you can still get into IB with econ), but most top 20 schools dont even offer business admin. Remember, this is only for IB’s/Vc’s … you can do alot with Finance. The schools you should be looking at are…

(For IB)
- Berkeley
- USC
- UCLA (iffy for IB but I will list it)

Good business programs:

Cal Poly/SDSU (tied)

UCI

UCSB

UC DAVIS (it is OK)

Dont waste your time on anything else.

I want to get my MBA, im not sure if a CSU does offer it. UCSB as i know is for econ accounting. Why not UCR? Any one care explains why though? Cuz UCR does offer business program. CAl poly no doubt is a good school but im not sure if it does offer MBA. also UCI, i have like 50% 50% of it getting in.

^
Think undergrad before you start talking about graduate school.

Also you don’t have to major in business to get in MBA…

Concentrate now on getting into an undergraduate program that will the best job possible. Then later in life think about getting an MBA.

Are you kidding me? Riverside would be an awesome place to live… well really anywhere in socal would be awesome to live. ■■■.
