I posted this in the Engineering forum, but want a perspective from the business crowd.

Out of college I would like the ability to find excellent work. Eventually, I would like to take a shot at my own business. Not sure how long I would wait before trying to get it going. I'm 24, spent 4.5 years in the military, and now I'm going to college (and I'm quite serious about it).

At this point I am thinking about a double major in business (finance) and engineering (something like the Product Design engineering option @ Stanford would be an awesome fit b/c of the art/creativity involved). I realize that doubling in these areas would be a LOT of work, considering the different nature of the two.

First, what schools have programs for this type of approach (i.e. UPENN's M&T)?

Secondly, is this a good idea? Are my major choices relevant to opening and running my own (unspecified) business? Would double majoring be worth it and give me more options?
