So I applied to Dornsife for Cognitive Sciences as my first choice major because it was the area of study that most interested me and was most reflective in my application. Now that I'm in, and thinking about the future, Ive always wanted to apply this field to the business field (to do a startup education company or something along those lines). So basically I'd want to go to grad school for business. USC has said that their minors are open for all students in all schools and that they encourage double majoring in broadly separate fields. Obviously minoring in something in business shouldn't be a problem, but how hard is it to double major INTO Marshall as a dornsife student? And if I can't double major, how much of a disadvantage am I applying to business grad schools following graduation without having primarily studied a business major. Thank you!

It’s pretty redundant to get an undergraduate degree in Business AND get an MBA… you’re better off majoring in something like Economics or International Relations and then going on to get the MBA, if you really want to go to grad school for business.

Just a head’s up though: I’m a film student with a Marshall minor (Consumer Behavior) and dealing with Marshall is incredibly frustrating at times… their rules for study abroad and transfer credit are incredibly strict. Also, if you’re a minor, it’s VERY difficult to meet with their advisors or get any sort of access to their resources. Maybe I’m a little bit biased, but I don’t really see the value in a Business degree. Economics is so much more useful.
