business information management

so i just got into this major, but im wondering what kind of jobs i can get with it. i want to be an accountant and hopefully minor in accounting, but what other opportunities are there? and is this a really difficult major or a major where as long as i work hard i can keep up with a good gpa? also if i were to transfer over to ucla or usc which major should i sign up as? thanks for any help

It’s difficult major because it’s partly Information & Computer Science as well. I think the BIM major has a lot going for it though and you can get jobs with public accounting firms under their ERS/SPA departments.
If you just want accounting, you should consider trying to change into Bus Admin in the way future or Bus Econ with an Accounting Minor.

Would majoring in BIM be similar to majoring in Business Admin and minoring in either Informatics or comp. sci?

Yep! Course lists are pretty similar, except BIM you have less choice on class selection it seems.

I read that this major is capped…so does that mean I have a slim to none chance of switching in? I got accepted as a bio major which was my second choice.

@BAMdrea: i actually just called em up and got into the major. i was previously in undeclared, but was able to switch, so you should hurry up and ask before seats are taken because i believe there are still spots available.
