I'm a Berkeley 2013 L&S admit. Looking at the career fair info, many businesses like Deloitte, JPM, etc. recruit from all majors. I was wondering how many non-Haas students get summer internships from them, or do you have to go Haas/on the Haas track to get a solid business internship?

I’m wondering the same thing because I’m afraid I might not make it into Haas while at Berkeley. I heard economics majors do pretty well at business internships too?

bump 10char

The big 4 gives no internship to those below Junior standing. They prefer Haas.

Most large/prestigious firms have a feeder system where your Junior year you work as an intern. If they like you, they offer you a full time job upon graduation. If you’re a Junior with a solid GPA in Econ, you’ll still have great opportunities… but you gotta wait…

Having been to internship fairs, it sucks being young/not in haas.

But there are definitely opportunities outside of the super elite firms! Try NGOs etc… they won’t be paid… and may not be as elite, but they still work!

What about smaller firms?

“The big 4 gives no internship to those below Junior standing.”

definitely wrong two of my friends who are going to the second years at call will both be interning at Deloitte.
