So, I'm at a crossroads right now. I'm taking my prerequisites for the business school this spring, but I still haven't decided whether I want to major or minor.

Which would be more beneficial? Major in Computer Science and minor in a business discipline? Or the other way around?

I'm open to either direction, but I'm not sure which is better. The workload for the CS major is far more intensive, and I'm not sure I want to spend my days programming (though I know there are pretty much hundreds of careers in CS all with different descriptions). I was thinking maybe getting the skills for working in other areas of business and complimenting that with CS knowledge would be helpful in a getting a job that requires multiples skill sets.

But, the other way around also has the same merit, and I would learn even more computer skills...

Eh...a little advice?

Um, a little help, guys? I seriously need some advice.

The major you’re looking for is MIS my friend.

My college doesn’t offer MIS, unfortunately. I have a choice between Accounting, Finance, Process Management & Consulting, and Marketing for business.

But MIS does sound like what I’m looking for…

The Process Management & Consulting sounds so much better than my major in Supply Chain. Lol, I’m jealous…it’s definately between that and Finance of course. I just think a minor in Accounting would be better for an actual business major because it adds the quantitative aspects. Computer Science proves that completely though. Marketing, for me, would only be an option if its heavy in market research and statistics.

Hm, yeah. I’m kinda stuck between Finance and PM&C. Both involve learning good skill sets, and both can be complimented well with CS skills. Hm…
