Business major & minor options?

I'm a freshman business major at USC and I was looking at the undergraduate requirements for my major. I knew already that I needed a minor to graduate, but are there restrictions on which minor I can pick? I was planning on possibly minoring in history or sociology, but does the minor to go along with my business school major need to be something less "liberal artsy"? (Ex. math or economics)

Sorry if this seems confusing, but I figured this would be better explained by a student at USC than an academic advisor...

I’m not a student at Carolina. I’m a parent of a graduate so I can only tell you what my daughter did.

She double majored in finance and economics and minored in Chinese. Any second language in the business world is a good thing.

Good luck – hope you enjoy your four years as much as my daughter did!

Just looking at business bulletin for management as example for business major, it says any 18 hours from University approved list of minors. Depending on what your focus is, some minors may be more helpful than others. I would talk to a business advisor to be sure you’re on correct track or maybe even cross campus advising to be sure that you don’t run in to trouble with pre-requisites in different colleges.
