Business major problems? Need advice

Ok, I'm going to YSU and it's AACSB accredited. The majors the school offers are Accounting, Business Econ, General Administration, International Business, Marketing Management, Advertising/Public Relations, Finance, Human Resource Management and MIS. I'm having trouble on which degree to go for but I do know I want to get a degree in the business field. I started out as General Administration but realized everyone was doing it and it was a vague major by seeing how many electives you had to take so at the moment. I'm looking at MIS but heard it's like the "I'm scared of math and programming but want to be in the tech field" major and also heard it;s hard to get a job in that areas without a lot of certifications to actually have a chance. I hate Accounting took two classes and didn't enjoy them at all, International Business I don't find interesting at all, can't even picture myself in Marketing and Advertising, and Human Resource Management doesn't seem exciting to me. So my options are down to Business Econ, MIS and Finance. SO can anyone help me on what areas I would enjoy? I like the business field and always have and I'm ok with computers I never built my own computers I just know the basic stuff, but I also don't want to be stuck behind a desk on a computer all day.

Finance and MIS make the most
If you are an outgoing person, like to meet new people , and don’t mind bothering them,
try Finance since Investment Banking could be an option for you.
If you are good in math, you could do Financial Engineering instead.
As for MIS, its not just about programming, it’s also about taking information from a business.
How many visitors a day, how many of them actually buy, and how many of them will return, etc.
These are the information you would like to collect to make business decisions.

I know someone who got a MIS degree and they are just doing IT work guiding people through their computer problems I don’t want a desk job.

We can’t what you would enjoy. You have to choose that yourself. From your post it sounds like you aren’t interested in business period because you find it difficult or uninteresting.

Look at your options left outside of MIS. Finance heavily relies on your school. If you go to a target school, you can secure interviews and internships. If you don’t go to a target school, it will be tough. If you want to go into ibanking, be prepared to work many hours a week. Economics IMO is the hardest. Economics is very theoretical and not very hands on except for Econometrics. Maybe Business Economics is a little easier since it’s a hybrid of the two.

Maybe you should consider another major?

I’m not sure if I go to a target school or not. I know my school has a good business program but if they are highly ranked I’m not sure on that. School is Youngstown State
