alright, alright, i know there are a billion of threads discussing the superiority of uci over ucsd and viceversa...but please bear with me, i need fresh opinions

im planning on pursuing a business/management major. I was accepted to both uci and ucsd but i have a huge dilemma: where should i go? I know ucsd ranks higher than uci ,but ucsd specializes on science, which is not something im looking very forward to. Also, i know both of them have school of business, which further complicated my decision. So yeah...what woud be best for me?

I'd say UCI, for the same reason as you stated: UCSD tends to be more science-focused. I'll let someone else chime in on this one, though.

im in exact situation man. what major did you apply under? i did economics at UCSD and business economics at Irvine. Im not sure how to get into the UCSD business school but am planning on going to UCSD over Irvine probably.

however im trying to figure out pros and cons for each
also trying to figure out what would be difference between business economics and economics. from what i hear economics has alot more calculus (which i want to avoid lol).

pros UCSD-
good location
high ranking

cons-
more exspensive (for me)
more competative
does not have business economics major?

pros UCI -
close (for me)
cheaper (for me)

cons -
less exclusive
commuter school

what you think?

i did management sciences, but i guess the major was too impacted, and so i got into ucsd with "international relations/political science" major...but im gonna try to switch majors though....i guess it will be difficult process..

well, i think both uci and ucsd have pretty decent business programs...but then the problem is that, as for ucsd, i got into ERC, which is known for its wicked GE's...especially the MMW intensive writing sequence!!!! im hating it..cuz it wasnt my top choice....where did you get into?

i got into muir.

you did international relations/political science? what would you switch it to???

do you know the pre-requisites for UCSDs business school??
