Business major vs economics for an MBA? Advice needed

Alright so I'm currently choosing between Cal Poly SLO and UCSB. At Cal Poly I would be majoring in either business management, finance, or economics. (and minoring in one of the options i gave up for my major). At UCSB i would be majoring in business economics.

So my first question is which is the smarter choice for undergrad for me (cal poly or ucsb)? If i want to get an mba at a top school after about 4 years of work experience? Finance, economics, bus managment etc?

Second question is: I've heard that it isnt a good idea to get an undergrad major in a business related subject if you want to go to a top mba program, is this true?

Thanks for you help :), also if any of you have any insight on if i should choose cal poly or ucsb it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Education-wise it doesn’t make much sense. But it’s pretty common to do undergrad in business then MBA.

^ If you think MBA is the master of business admin, it doesn’t make sense. But if you think it the HBS way as “a leadership education”, then it makes sense.

What do you understand by ''Humanities/SOcial scientists" ?

^ Economics, History, English, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Psychology, …

^What about international relations and political science ?

Yes.

Well political science is definitely social science. I would put international relation too considering the context here even it’s the application of the social science.

^^What kind of WE do you think I can get after doing IR&POS as undergrad ?
