Business Major with Biology or Chemistry Minor?

Hi everyone I am CURRENTLY a biology MAJOR, but I've looked over the classes and I can still complete on time if I switch to Business Major. But my problem is what to do as a minor because I don't just want to throw my science classes away....

I was wondering if there's a huge difference between career choices as a minor in biology versus a minor in chemistry...I'm asking because it makes a significant impact on my choice of classes...as I've taken most of the chemistry minor requirements (ironic since I was on track for biology major lol) I'd only have to take 1 or 2 more courses in chemistry to finish it as a minor, as opposed to having to take up to 5 courses in biology field for its minor...?

I mean I personally have no preference on which minor, I was just afraid say chemistry minor wouldn't land me a job as often as a biology minor... or maybe other complications would exist such as explaining why I went Biology Major first then switched to chemistry minor and business minor vs. just making my biology major into a minor and just going business major route.

I am interested in going into accounting possibly, or if not purely business I'd go into like a science-related company and handle their business, like pharmaceutical companies and such. But most likely pure business.

All opinions appreciated thanks! :P

bump. i am interested in this as well.

currently, I am doing psychology major with math, chemistry, or biology minor. definitely, thinking about changing some things around, though, if i have time.

Though I don’t have experience either working or hiring in the business field, in my opinion minors carry very little weight in the real world. Yes it’s something you can add to the education line of your resume and it may be something you can bring up to talk about during interviews for your first job, but I can’t see it helping you practically. For example, if you were going into a business role for a pharmaceutical company, no one will ever ask you a question that relates to your biology/chem minor…that’s what all of the MD’s/PhD’s are for. The only advantage it carries is showing that you have some interest in science but in reality, those five to ten classes you take for a minor are not going to help you understand anything scientific in a chemical/pharmaceutical company. My advice, if you have the extra cash to spend or find the classes interesting, go for it; otherwise pick advanced business classes in your major to fulfill your credit requirements, do well in them and then use that extra money to pay for expenses towards finding an internship. Good luck
