Business majors at MD

I was accepted to maryland but didn't get into the Business school. I was told I can apply after my soph year. How hard is it to get into the Business school?

After sophomore year, you need around a 3.5-3.6 GPA to get into Smith. You will take a few business classes along the way and need to get A's in those. Otherwise, if you take the right university core's, it should be a joke to get A's in those classes.

its not as easy as u would think to get in ur junior yearrr because there are so many ppl trying to get into the business school...i kno a lot of ppl who had high gpas and still didn't get. im not saying its impossible but don't think getting some a's is gonna give u an automatic-in

Some advice I give for those who're trying to get into Smith:

Declare Economics as your major for right now because some of the early business courses and economics courses overlap. Just in case you don't get admitted into Smith, you'll still have Economics as your backup.

No need to lock in Economics right now. You can join your junior year if you want.

Unless you're doing pre-engineering or the sciences, you can major in anything and have plenty of electives to complete the pre-business core.
