If you got in / waitlisted / still waiting and applied for business, check in!

GPA: 3.3 unweighted. 3.45 cal poly weighted
1400/1600 SAT (this got me in)
good extracurrics including leadership

i heard cal poly orfalea of college is really good. but, i heard that their accounting program is not AACSB accredited or whateveer?? i found that weird…

Still waiting…and hoping to hear soon, but thinking this is not looking too good…

Cal Poly GPA: 3.8
SAT: 1290/1990
good ECs, part time work
3 Honors, 2 AP classes, but HS does not offer any business classes, so have not taken any
Bay Area, Northern CA

BayAreaCAMom, I have a friend that got into Business a couple weeks ago with the same GPA, lower SAT, and not much EC time. I say there’s definitely a shot.

3.4 UW/4.0 W GPA- I think I calculated my Cal Poly GPA to be around 3.4 but that doesn’t make sense…
1380/2040 SAT
yes to leadership and extracurriculars

we actually thought she had a very good shot at getting in. Her stats are right at the median of the Business “accepted” last year, so guess it was a lot harder this year.
have actually been thinking the past few days, though, that since they notified some on the waitlist, that it probably meant she was going to be rejected

fortunately, she has been accepted to 5 wonderful (albeit private, and expensive!) schools that she will consider, once she moves on past Cal Poly. I do believe that these things do work out in the end, though. :)

I agree BayAreaCAMom - that your daughter’s stats were excellent – and others who were accepted were not as good so I don’t really understand the rhyme or reason behind Cal Poly’s scoring. Great that she has 5 other choices - she is obviously a very bright student and in a great position as she has many other options to consider.

I am a transfer as well. I completed all the necessary classes and have a 3.92 GPA. I was rejected; I don’t really know what else I could have done.

wow that’s surprising, where did you hear that? I think we just picked the wrong year to transfer because every school is having financial problems; the state of California is just a mess.

I was also rejected as a business transfer. It was expected because I didn’t complete two of the prereqs. hotshotxx, I’m really surprised you didn’t get in!

Rejected
Bus Admin transfer
4.0 GPA
Missing two prereqs

Has Cal Poly business always been this hard to transfer into? Is it because of the budget cuts this year? Also, are they waitlisting any transfers or is that just for the freshmen?
