Business Management Economics Schedule

I was thinking about taking either Macroeconomics or Microeconomics for the first quarter but Microecon was taken already. I already signed up for Macro but I heard that you need an understanding of microecon before you can take macroecon and I consider myself a pretty slow learner. Is there any other classes I could take that would help me in my major instead of macro?

It’s perfectly fine taking macro econ before micro econ. The first 4 chapters of Intro to Macro will go over very basic principles of micro econ, so it may help a LITTLE bit for your first midterm. Everything after that is completely based on macro economics.

There is no microecon pre-req for macro, so technically you are not responsible to know any of the micro subjects. The book/professor/TA section will easily help you go over any of the micro workload though.

Thanks. Would you recommend enrolling in a discussion too? Also, does anyone know how to add a lecture if you already signed up for the class?

I know when I took Econ 2 (Fall 08) it actually required enrolling in a discussion, but I heard that’s not the case anymore. If it’s optional, I’d still sign up for one and go every time you have a question about the material. It’s always important to keep up with the class material, so discussion is essential with that preparation.

You should be able to just add in the discussion. If that doesn’t work, you can try the swap option (might not work though). Whatever you do, DO NOT DROP THE COURSE AND RE-ADD IT. People lose spots in classes all the time doing that. I’ve personally sniped seats by finding students who do that.

Thanks, I was thinking about dropping it and then adding it again but I felt like it was too risky.
