business (marketing) major at cal poly slo

<p>I am hoping to apply for a major in marketing at Cal Poly SLO. I have only taken the SAT and ACT once so I'm going to study and retake the tests and attempt to raise my scores. I have great work experience at my dad's company every summer for the past three summers and volunteer at the hospital. I also have played volleyball for 4 years. I'm applying early decision. </p>

<p>3.8 UC gpa
3.6 cal poly gpa (I think I did that correctly, it doesn't include sports, just academics, right?)
SAT reading 590
SAT math 570
ACT 27
Recieved 4's on both the AP art history exam and AP lang</p>

<p>What are my chances? Will my work experience help much? And is marketing one of the easier majors in business to get into or harder? Please reply I'm very curious:)</p>

<p>Your GPA is a little on the low side for Cal Poly SLO and your 1160 SAT score is well below the average for accepted students at Cal Poly SLO. You have good ECs but unfortunately CSUs do not take them into consideration in admissions decisions. Unless you can get your SAT scores up Cal Poly SLO is definitely a reach for you.</p>
