Business Minor??? Engineering transfer

I am going into the engineering school, but I want to get a minor in the business school...is it possible to minor in something in the Business school???

Also, how hard is it to internal transfer in engineering, or transfer to a different UT school?

Have you already been to orientation?
At orientation they can basically switch your major for you during advising, at least they did for me, as long as you want to stay in the same school.

If you want to switch to another school in ut its more difficult. Liberal arts is the easiest to get into. Business and Architecture would be more difficult. Talk to your adviser about it, they will be able to tell you specifics.

And the business school has a program: [Undergraduate Programs - The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin](http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/udean/major/foundations/index.asp)

Basically they have classes for non majors. A business foundations sort of thing that would end up counting as a minor for business.

nerd855, does that include switching from LA major to LA undeclared sophomore year?

what about switching from engineering into college of natural sciences to a bio or chem major?

Switching liberal arts anything is pretty easy unless you want to do psychology, plan II, and the major called Humanities I think. I saw African American studies on there as something you couldn’t switch to automatically on the list on the site recently.

I would just go online and declare a major since it sounds like you are already in liberal arts.
If you need advising then go to student division in GEB. Just walk in and talk to the lady at the front desk. I would try online first.

Oh no i’m not even in UT yet. I’m a transfer applicant, but I want to internally transfer to mccombs after completing 24 hours in residence. I applied for LA Economics but I think changing to undeclared might be better.

It doesn’t really matter if you plan on transferring to business.
