Business or Economics options

So I am in a grind and would like to hear your opinions-

I want to major in either economics or business administration. I think I like economics more and find it more interesting but I think a business degree would be easier and maybe a little bit more broad for finding a job. I have read that econ majors typically have more math classes required and i don't like math very much (yes I know- how can I like econ if I don't like math? because econ itself is more concept based... I have found it to be at least) Plus I can stuck to up anyways... Math is very useful and can only make me smarter.

So I am thinking I want to go to west coast undergrad and possibly east coast grad school. So maybe major in econ with Masters in BA.
I would like to go to USC but it is a lot more renowned for it's Marshall School of business than econ department. So maybe UCLA or Berkeley(if I have the grades). But I have heard that USC has really good connections in getting a job after college!! --which sounds good to me!

So would majoring in business administration and masters in econ be a better choice? But I feel that a major in econ would better prepare me for MBA, than major in BA would prepare me for masters in econ. Have you done a combo like this before??

By the way I was thinking of going to grad school at maybe NYU, Columbia, possibly Duke, U of Chicago, Michigan. Sounds like a good idea to me with the whole east coast, west coast, get the best of both worlds thing.

So what do you think??? This is a tough one as I have been thinking about it for a while.

Also there are lots of other factors that could go into something like this-- have anything that might play an important role in picking the right school?

Bump- I am curious to much of the above as well.

A master’s in econ isn’t feasible for someone who hasn’t taken a ton of math or who wasn’t a math major. Basically you go onto PhD programs straight from undergrad for economics. A masters in Econ is basically just a year of prep for a PhD program in Econ. Most colleges only require calc I or so for undergrad in Econ.

Get an undergrad in econ, work a few years, THEN go back for an MBA. Employer could pay for it and you have a much better chance at being accepted into an MBA program

I think it doesnt matter that much, they work in similar fields. You can get into the big4 with an econ major, you can go into Management consulting. Basically you can do everything that a Business major can do. Choose the major which you’re more interested in.
