Business or Engineering!

I’m struggling to decide between two schools. NJIT there I will be studying some type of engineering. However I’ve also been admitted into Rutgers Newark to its business school. I’ve doing some digging around and I’ve found that most of the career available for engineers at NJIT are also available for Business students at Rutgers Newark. I’m having a hard time deciding on what major to focus on. I know that NJIT is a decent engineering school and Rutgers is more reputable. However is engineering a more valuable skill than Finance my intended major at Rutgers Business. Any advice I suck at making decisions. PS. I’m going to commute and the prices are basically the same for each school.

I am in the same boat but it’s NJIT or NB

I’m a junior. Can you share what types of scores were needed for both schools. I’m OOS from NY. 1390 SAT. 3.5 gpa. Taken 4 aps so far. Travel team basketball. I’m looking at a blended degree. Maybe a major in business and minor in C.S. I haven’t see NB campus yet. Would love input and feedback.

@whereinnj what are you leaning towards
NB isn’t offering me a ton of money

@HSinLI those stats are great to get into NB just don’t mess up that GPA during junior or senior year and have a ton of extracurriculars.

@Rayfusion7 I have till this weekend to decide. Honestly I am thinking maybe I’ll just go to County College of Morris and save money. It a tough decision but I have excellent stats and am quite disappointed that I didn’t get more money from Rutgers/NJIT. I am not worried about how tough or hard classes are. I know I can handle any workload. I took 14 APs and maintained A (low a).

But I do want to graduate with as little debt as possible.

Speaking to recent graduates from both schools. They told me having low debt gives you the freedom to try things instead of trying to get a job to start paying your college bills. That it adds up and in hind sight they would have done 2 years of CCM and transfer into either Rutgers or NJIT.

If you’re not sure, pick the most flexible school and plan to change your major at least once. Most college students change their major at least once.
