Business or TESL Degree?

I am currently in college and planning to transfer this fall. I have been thinking about becoming an English teacher and teaching abroad for a while (Japan or another Pacific Rim country would be my #1 choice but I'd like to go anywhere really) but I am thinking that a business degree would be more valuable in the long run.

I am considering a degree in HR (I would go on to get a master's in any field(s) btw) or business administration.

Can anyone give me advice or information?

It depends on what you want to do and what are your interests. I think you need to clarify your interests and goals. Partly, it depends on what you mean by saying that business would be more valuable. If you mean in terms of more immediate or lucrative employment prospects, perhaps yes.
Do you just want to study or work abroad? What about study abroad programs? Do you have an interest in international business? Do you have academic interests in Japan or other Pacific Rim countries, including languages? Have you considered certificate programs in TESL (rather than just a major)? You can obtain a TESL certificate at some universities without majoring in English. you considered related areas—e.g., cross-cultural communication, etc. whether these are in a non-business or a business-related field? Finally, it’s not clear from your wording whether you would go on for a masters in any field or just any field of business administration. You don’t need an undergrad degree in business to go on for a master’s in business, but you can’t do a master’s in just any other field without a major or some substantial relevant coursework in that field (or a related field).

I do have an interest in international business. My goal is to travel a lot and have the opportunity to live and do business in the Pacific Rim.
I do have academic interests in Japan which include languages. I would like to major in Japanese along with a second major which I have not decided on yet.

Also, I would go on to the highest possible degree in any field possible (master’s in Japanese, MBA, etc.)
