Business Program/ Campus

I'm a fairly solid student and want to go to a very good business school (NYU stern is my first choice). I was wondering how the Krannert school is ranked in people's eyes, especially for internship opportunities and prestige.

My GPA is 4.75 weighted (I really don't know what scale it's on), a 720 M, 630 CR, and a 680 Writing (first try, without any classes or books--i've picked up a crit reading help book)

I also want to know how the campus is there, how the dorms are, and if is there a nice surrounding city or anything? (I live in Jersey and it's quite a hike to get out there, especially if i don't end up applying there).

Thanks in advance for the help.

Not quite sure about the business, however I do know that it is good.

I'm from Jersey as well, and I went to the campus. When you go there it feels different because the outside areas of West Lafayette is like a farm/country style. However, when you are in West Lafayette the town is basically Purdue. All you see is students walking around and all these neighborhood stores and buses around. It's very nice actually and the environment is more better lets say compared to our "pollutionized" air in Jersey. The dorm I went to was I guess okay but I found it to be abit too small. The Hillenbranch or something I believe is a upperclassmen dorm even including sophomores which looked nice. Since it's pretty close to Indianapolis the airport is close by and there are many buses roaming around. I also know that the buses go everywhere basically that you need to go. I find that area very nice. However, I will have to adapt to that environment also, since it felt wayyyy different then in Bergen County :(

Hopefully that will help you a little bit. Krannert is a very strong school that is often overshadowed in the state of Indiana by Kelley School of Business. To be honest, both are very good, and Kelley normally only edges Krannert by a few spot in the "official" rankings (for what that's worth).

From what I've heard, the Research Park is pretty cool. It's new and expensive, so that's always good. I'm just assuming that there will be a lot of collaboration between the different science and business departments, but I'm not positive on that.

As a resident of Indiana, I can assure you that you want to go to Purdue and not IU (haha, well maybe I'm a little biased). In all seriousness, both are great schools.

P.S. You're SATs are almost identical to mine. Assuming you're an 08'er, I'll look forward to seeing you at Boiler Gold Rush about a year from now. :)

haha sounds good. I'll most likely apply to purdue, not sure if I'll go though depending on other options.
