Business School no longer ranked?!

I just checked the 2010 Business rankings(Top Undergraduate Business Programs 2010 - BusinessWeek) and I can't believe that Chapman isn't ranked this year?! They were #46 last year (2009).

For anyone who has been accepted w/business major - Would you still go to Chapman since they are no longer ranked?

For those who are currently business majors - Why should I go to Chapman for business?

Also, Chapman has only one job fair with 30 or some odd companies that show up, from what I heard. Is the job placement quality poor?

I got accepted for the business major, too!
I don’t think that you should take really into consideration the rankings! Most of them have been formed just to advertise the universities! Don’t forget that they are businesses, and I know that they pay such organizations to boost them in the rankings!
Moreover, they say that what really matters is the Grad degree you’re gonna get and the MBA! So you should pay more attention to the school you go afterwards and keep your grades good in the Undergrad!

What do you wanna do, specifically??

I either want to do something with marketing, international business, or technology.

Yeah, I’m not entirely looking at rankings. UCI isn’t ranked and I’m considering going there. You are right about the grad degree - I hope I can go to UCLA for grad! I got in for undergrad, but I heard it’s not so great (cause it’s economics, hah).

I’m visiting Chapman, so I’ll get the feel for it and then decide, I guess. Still waiting on Berkeley (:

I’m going for Marketing, too, eventually!
I thought that it would be better to do the Undergrad generally in Business Administration, and then the Grad in something more specific!
Where did you apply generally? Are you from California/?

Yeah, I’m from CA.

See, I thought the way you did too, which makes it hard IF I get accepted to Berkeley. The education there is more well rounded whereas my major at Irvine is specific (Technology/IT Management). Then there’s Cal Poly SLO and Chapman as well to consider. AHHH. I don’t want to decide yet.

I applied to:
UC Riverside (accepted;regents)
UCLA (accepted)
UC Berkeley (pending)
UC Irvine (accepted;CHP)
Chapman University (accepted;Presidential Scholar)
Cal Poly SLO (accepted)
Babson College (pending ~4 hours!)
New York University (pending)
CSU Stanislaus (accepted)
Sac State (accepted)

Where did you apply and where do you want to go?

I’ll list them according to my preference:

Pepperdine (pending)
USC (accepted)
LMU (accepted)
Chapman (accepted)
Pitzer (pending)
Occidental (pending)
Westmont (pending)
Concordia (pending)

I still haven’t received any answers for scholarship, but I’m waiting! Actually, I really wanna go to the first 4 that I mentioned!! So I guess that I’ll manage to go to one of them! Part of my decision depends on the schoalrships, too!

What about you? Any preference?

Scholarship for Chapman comes with the admissions packet. You open that huge folder and then BOOM! A letter :)

USC - I would go there! Haha. I didn’t apply though because I didn’t want to attend college in that area. I kind of regret it though  Oh well!

I’m debating between a lot of the school I applied to. It’s hard because I never really had a top. It was NYU but I can’t afford it. I’ll probably go to Irvine/Berkeley/LA or else Chapman or Cal Poly SLO. Not sure; stressful!

Are you from CA?

wait is the acceptance packet the first one you get from chapman?
if i am correct.
they send you two packages/folders

first with a congratulations letter, booklets, financial aid and enrollment details

and the other

with other stuff

in which package/folder did u get urs??

I got the acceptance one today… with all the information about housing, scholarships, health insurance and stuff!
What is the second one about??

I have the first one… and I applied EA. Never got a second package.
