Hi, I am an international student who wants to go to a good university for business. I have been selected in the following university:
1)Indiana University(not given my major)
2)UC Riverside
3)UC Santa Cruz
4)UMass Boston
5)University of Arizona

Please advice ASAP as time is running out. Finance, social scene are not big factors for me, I want to select the best university for finance major. Your comments will be appreciated and taken into full consideration.

Hi there, I am a current student at University of Arizona! Eller College Undergraduate Programs rank #12 among public business schools nationwide and #24 among business schools overall in the country. I am in engineering but I have friends in business focused on finance and they think the program is a great one. Campus here is beautiful, diverse, and very friendly. Everyone is happy all the time and there is very little to complain about by coming to UA for school. Hope you look in to it!

Consider Indiana and Arizona. Indiana is considered somewhat more prestigious in Business. AZ certainly has the better weather; but that shouldn’t be a deciding factor.

You have to maintain a very high GPA and not everyone gets into kelly so it is risky. Is UC riverside good?I am an international student so I don’t know my standing among the students at IU. Please comment @BrownParent.

I don’t know that much about business at Riverside. Riverside has a large component of commuter students who live at home, although there are a reasonable amount on campus. I would not pick it for your purpose, I don’t even know if they have a finance route.

I would take a harder look at U of Arizona, I think it has a stronger reputation for business.

But riverside has a decent business course and I like the location as well as the campus. Would it be a wrong choice if I chose riverside over UA.

Why do you like the location? Not criticizing, just wondering. Keep in mind that Riverside is not what most people think of when they speak about California (well maybe when referring to suburban sprawl).

Yes I know that, I was talking about winters in Indiana. @BrownParent how do you rate Riverside in business because I like riverside the most. Do you think it would be wise to choose riverside over UA.

My impression is that I don’t think it would be a good choice. But I have not looked very far into business undergrad degrees. If you were premed I’d say it’s likely a good choice right now.

I think the UCs would be more enjoyable for college students, and, in general, California is a much better State than Indiana is, but if business is the major you want to pursue, then Indiana-Kelly is the better choice here. However, since you don’t have an assurance from Kelley, I think that might be a little risky, as what you’ve said so yourself. In such case, I’d go for UC Riverside. Not the best business program in California, but it’s decent, and the school name, “UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA”, may mean a lot to a lot of top employers in your country.
