is it easier to get in if you're applying to the business school?

I would think ArtSci is the hardest to get into, seeing its high caliber (also, it is the largest division at WUSTL)..so maybe business school would be easier to get into? But WUSTL business school is pretty good too..

Of course, if you would love to go into business, by all means, apply!

According the admissions reps, all schools are the same amount of difficulty to get into. This makes sense, considering that once you are in a particular school you can easily take classes in another school (simply register for them) and you can transfer to different schools very easily; therefore, they don't make certain schools easier to get into.

I suspect (don't know for sure) that it is easier to get into the school if you have a unique interest/talent. Most kids going to college today are pre-law, pre-med, pre-business. Schools want to accept a range of students, hoping to have a diverse student body, and enough seats to fill-out some of the bigger, yet less popular, majors.

Well WashU is different in the sense that applying and stating an interest doesn't bind you to a major @ all. So they really hold no stock in what you put as your interest on your application in deciding whether to admit you or not. Most people here double major anyway, some people even dual degree (such as myself). The fact that WashU makes it so easy to do all of these things is possible because they don't pick applicants with the expectation for them to marry the same major that they had in mind when they applied.
