Hi!

I'm a Sophomore in HS around the Seattle area. I'm taking a program called Running Start for the last two years of my high school (RS is a program where students have the chance of earning an Associates Degree). I plan on getting my AA in business during my two years there, and then transferring to one of University of Washington's campuses - most likely Bothell. (Completing an AA that has a direct transfer agreement to UW makes me more competitive to get in, yes?)

Also, this summer I'm planning on learning programming and web design/development through self studying and online courses. I've always been intrigued by the internet, and I am amazed at how many people used the internet to share their ideas and to change the world. I want to learn how to use the web and computers to their full potential. My goal would be to successfully create a profit earning website or affiliate marketing business by the time I graduate HS. Can someone offer some insight toward this plan of learning programming/web development? Should I try to earn any diploma's/certifications in any specific languages? Would colleges/employers take interest upon me learning and applying this in my own websites? Would this be a legitimate EC?

I'm planning on completing a bachelors degree in business administration at university of washington's foster school of business, but I am not sure about what area of concentration/focus I want to go into. I do think I'm more on the creative/artistic side, which can lead me more towards the Marketing focus. But I am really leaning towards either Management Information Systems, or Technology Innovation Management. This is due to my interest in programming/web development, and b/c they are the two focuses that are more STEM oriented. I've also seen online that professions that need Management Info Systems are really growing and are well paid. But like I said I'm really interested in creating something that's my own, and working in a job that I love waking up for. Can anyone offer any insight between these two focuses (MIS vs. TIM, - and even marketing too actually)? Also what types careers each focus leads to?

So that's all I got right now. If anyone has ANY input or advice, it would be greatly appreciated. And I'll try to be quick to answer back as well. Thanks!
