Although I can't get into Wharton, my parents are pressuring me to apply early decision to UPenn (cause of legacy), where I would major in economics. Which would be better for a future career in business/a job right out of college: economics at UPenn, or going to a business school at UVA or University of Michigan, both of which are highly ranked in business? My main focus is just having a job, as that's my biggest worry, if that changes anything.

You’ll be able to get a job if you do well in any of the 3 schools you’ve listed.

If you mean you are sitting in a room with 2 other people and the recruiter does not know your face or your work ethics then being from UPenn will give you an edge.

Econ at Penn is the best way to go in terms of GETTING a job. It’s an Ivy league.

You’ll likely have a lot more debt though. This would mitigate the benefit.

You should be fine with any of them though as long as you realize that your school, GPA and major are only a small part of your major. Work experience trumps the rest.

get an unpaid internship your first year. Maybe wealth management, some well know, prestigious place. After that, progressively upgrade.
