I have been doubting for quite a while wether i should major in business. My second option major is economics. My question is what knd of future will an econ degree offer as opposed to a business one? Does one degree offer better opportunities than the other? Thanks....!

same question

Does your school actually offer a degree in “Business”? I’d steer clear of it for sure. Go for finance or accounting… if your school doesn’t have those, pick econ.

Im at community college right now, but the schools i will apply too have business schools.

I am double majoring in finance (business school) and economics (liberal arts school) due to the fact that the business school usually offers better campus recruiting and internship opportunities. If one is actually knowledgeable about what an economics degree can do for you career-wise then it is a great option. I personally want to work in the energy or transportation industries and those two sectors often look for economics and finance majors as entry-level analysts.

Inmotion12,

Did you change your major or something? Aren’t you double majoring in CS and economics?

That was my plan a long time ago. Sorry, I know it changes frequently, but I think I’ve actually found the right mix this time.

Economics, Accounting or Finance…each can offer a great deal.
