Are these academics going to get me rejected?
9th - 89% ; A grade ; top 5%
10th - 91.5 ; A+ grade ; top 5%
Changed my school. New school has horrible marking policies. 60-100 gets an A grade!!

11th - 90 ; A grade ; top 5%
12th - 74 ; still A ; top 5%
(got a doc's certificate recommending rest during couple of papers which got my percentage down)

Will my 12th marks get me rejected?

Though I can gauge it myself, I consider the subjective part of my app to be very strong.

Chill because “it’s not bad, it won’t get you rejected. Stop worrying” or chill because “do you really expect to get into Upenn with marks like these? And you are an international? Just naming yourself wharton won’t get you in. Stop dreaming”.?? Sorry for all the drama :p

You’re Top 5%, that’s awesome! I don’t know where you come from, but I’m pretty sure that admissions officers trust “their” American standardized testing more than foreign school systems (doesn’t mean that your grades aren’t important!), so I hope you got some +2300/+750/+34 - scores under your belt, too (:

whart: you may be rejected for a whole host of reasons.

There will be people with better stats than you who are rejected. There will be people with lesser stats than you who will be accepted.

So you should get that in your head. As soon as you hit the ‘submit’ button, your chances are terrible… just like everyone else. So like you said, stop being dramatic, apply to the schools you have a realistic chance at (like Penn) and relax. The earth is not going to split because of wharton1995’s eventual college destination.

T26E4: I’m sorry I gotta ask this. From your name and your extreme bluntness and your disability to grasp humour (however bad it may be), are you robot? When did I ever say earth is going to split or what not. Anyways, thanks so much. (I am assuming you can’t grasp sarcasm as well. So FYI, the thanks is oozing out with sarcasm).

Donttrustthepug: a sarcasm less thanks and yes I’m working hard on that.

I think T26E4’s comments were spot on. Everyone has a terrible chance, that’s just the way it is.

Put in your application to Penn and to other places with higher admission rates too. Know that down the road if you are a great student and take advantage what your school has to offer you will enjoy yourself, prepare yourself, and find your place in the world.
