But the question is: What is considered the good GPA for transfering to these UC's.

I am interested in going to UC Davis, Berkeley, San Diego, and Irvine. What would you say the average GPA is for transferring?

I am going to apply to schools this November, so does that mean the GPA that is considered is only up to the end of Fall this year? Realistically, I'll have a GPA of 3.45 to 3.60 by the end of this fall. My two most preferred UC's are Berkeley and San Diego.

For 2012 admissions, UCLA’s average was 3.7 and UC Berkeley’s was 3.77 (for L&S). I was admitted to both schools with 3.72 this year, so might want to try a bit harder.

I have no idea on SD thou

Ok, that means I gotta raise my java programming class to a B this semester and basically get all A’s after this semester. Only then, I will have a GPA of 3.69 by the end of this Fall.

kay1541, did you have EC’s and was your major impacted or not?

I applied as an art history major, which is not impacted. However, I was also part of both UCLA and Cal TAP. My EC’s included being in ASO Fine Arts Division, campaign internship, family translator, and others. So I didn’t have much empty slots in the EC box.

Oh I did also applied to SD as a TAG. TAG requirement for LS is 3.5 and IGETC

Get the highest gpa and show upward trend.

3.5-3.6 you can get into UCSD

3.7-4.0 you have a shot at UCB and UCLA. I’m convinced that in the 3.7-3.8 range ECS matter a lot more than 3.8-3.9.

I’m basing this off the fact that with a 3.76-3.8 gap (depending on which pe units are counted), I got into UCD, UCSD, UCLA, and UCB.

Ok, Berkeley seems like a reach for me with a 3.69 GPA if I get it. Nonetheless, I am still going to try hard to get that 3.69 and still apply.

As for UCSD, do you think i can get in with a 3.5 with a TAG to computer science major? I think this major is impacted there, not sure exactly.

I don’t have EC’s except just a couple from high school (tutoring at a middle school, and being a part of an elementary school day care program thing, where I guess you can say did a little supervising). I am hoping to get a job soon, and probably find something to volunteer in.

GoToCC,

What was your GPA?

Oh, and up to what point is the GPA less looked at. I am saying this because Spring GPA next year won’t be calculated till Spring semester is done. That is why I said my possible GPA just by the end of this fall.

What’s your major?

mermaker,

My major is computer science.

Aim to get you pre-reqs done with an upward trend, and then apply. I promise you pre-reqs are more important than GPA (As long as you aren’t trying to apply with a 2.0-3.5 GPA)

Yeah, I’m worried about many of the no courses articulated for computer science though. They say that my 2 semesters of java at College of San Mateo isn’t equivalent to theirs.
