Butler University Early Action for Fall 2023 Admission

Here’s a thread for EA decisions for Butler. Sounds like they will start sending out decisions mid-October at the earliest. Good luck everyone!

When you share your results, can you please post major and stats?

Saw on Instagram that Blue will be delivering the first acceptances next week. D23 is anxious to hear but we’re not on the list of cities he’ll be visiting.

I saw that too! We’re around Chicago, which he is visiting in February, but D23 hopes to find out in the next few weeks. But she should still LOVE a visit, even after the fact! :dog: :dog:

Wondering if anyone has heard from Butler yet? Apparently, some acceptances were sent out on Friday but nothing for D23.

D23 was accepted on Friday. Data Science major, unweighted GPA 3.9ish, ACT 35.

Congrats to your daughter!

My D23 heard Friday that she was accepted. :grinning:

She was accepted to the Health Sciences program with a great merit scholarship of $25K/year. Her stats are: 4.0 UW GPA/4.42 W, ACT 30, great ECs, 4 year varsity athlete, PT job. Someone else she knows that applied hasn’t heard anything yet.

That’s wonderful news! I’m getting a little nervous for D23. Maybe they let in the top tier first

She has a 3.7 UW (but 4.0 after freshman year)with 7 APs, varsity cheer captain and lots of leadership and volunteering and a part time job. She applied for Strategic Communications. She was hoping to hear and was disappointed but did get into Baylor on Friday and happy about that.

Maybe in the next batch!

Is anyone’s student applying to the University Honors program? D23 received an invite and I was wondering if anyone had any inside knowledge about it?

We are curious as well!

DD accepted into Criminology/Psychology program in mid-December with $23K merit scholarship. 4.14 weighted GPA; 1360 on SAT; 5 APs (3 prior and 2 current)

Did your daughter end up applying for honors? My D23 kept getting invites too. It’s quite late, but their latest reminder email has made her consider it, so she’s planning to this weekend. She has a friend who goes there who put her in touch with someone in her same planned major who had good things to say and my D23 looked at more info on the website today and she decided to do it.

She did! I’m not sure how great her application was because she did it very last minute, but she did decide to apply.

I wondered if anyone else was concerned or had heard any issues with Butler requiring a 3.0 for continuing merit scholarships? All of D23s other schools are 2.0. I certainly had a semester or 2 (or 4) where I didn’t have a 3.0. Butler is very expensive for us without the merit.

My daughter sent in her honors program application last night. As for the GPA requirement for merit scholarships, I haven’t thought much about it. Maybe there’s a chance they might allow for extenuating circumstances when they do a review if it’s under 3.0. That would be a good question for the financial aid office.
