Apple has their awesome free ipod deal...and they even upgraded it from last year. If you use your educational discount and purchase an apple computer you can now get a free ipod touch ($300 value) and a free printer ($100) value. Its an awesome deal.

Btw, the only reason I posted this is because there were alot of threads about computers and the educational discount....i'm not getting any kickbacks from apple (unfortunately).

Oh Shraf. You do my heart good. Those were three of the things on my list. (Well...technically on iphone but I'm sure my 2003 Ericsson phone still has some mileage).

Do you have a link to the offer? I'm sort of weary of making the jump from PC to Mac (spiffy commercials be damned) but this sure does sweeten the deal.

find the recent thread where denzera and I discuss mac vs. PC ...bottom line you can install windows on your mac (using bootcamp or parallels or vmware) and your mac will do everything a PC can do and more!

no....any student whose college has a relationship with Apple (which I think is most if not all colleges) is eligible.

Why aren't the iPod Shuffle and the iPod Classic eligible for this discount?

last year you were allowed to get the rebate on a more expensive ipod if you paid the difference between it and the ipod they were offering but if you really want a cheaper(!) ipod i'm sure they'd be more than happy to give it to you....read the rebate for more details

If you read the fine print, they say you can get only the nano or the touch. You can get a more expensive touch but you have to pay the difference.

To answer the question, nobody really knows why they didn't offer the classic or the shuffle.
