While I haven’t used the sheets or anything from the linen program, I did order the package for my son. IMHO it’s one heck of a deal when you factor in the fact that it just shows up and I don’t have to go purchase all of it.

One thing that wasn’t obvious from the materials sent. When I was ordering (online), after selecting the package and the pattern etc, an option came up to be able to upgrade the egg crate mattress topper to a memory foam topper for $30 (I think) and to upgrade the sheet thread count (I think to 300 count) for $20. I may have the numbers backwards but they are in the right ballpark. I did both.

Another note. I thought this package showed right up in the dorm room but that’s not the fact. It gets shipped to your house or you can have it shipped to the school with the students Ubox number and it will be held at the UPS store on campus. Being we’re flying down, we certainly didn’t want it shipped to the house. I can only imagine the madhouse the UPS store is going to be the first day of move in! UGG!

Before freshman year I was able to get the whole bed set- comforter, sheet set, mattress pad, pillowcases, and pillows- for less than $30 total from Target. The only thing I could think of that I didn’t get then was the egg crate, because I already had one, but I would swear they’re only $10-15 at Walmart. Less than $50 for the whole set. And all of my sheets from freshman year still work (although I did just buy new ones… the sheet set was $10).

I did a bit of comparison shopping, and the packages were a good deal! BB & B was sooo much more expensive, and target was inconsistent w/ what they offered…

Ours will also be shipped to the U Box/UPS - not looking forward to that melee!

I looked at that but opted to buy separately. I got him a really nice mattress pad from Bed, Bath, and Beyond that I think is better than one of the egg crate things. My son never uses top sheets so I just got him a comforter with a cover that can be removed and washed. So a couple of fitted sheets and he was set. I did not buy him new towels–gave him the older ones I had around the house. He’s doesn’t really care if anything matches.
I remember looking at the linen package and thinking what Target offered looked like a better deal.
