I'm looking for a good chemistry textbook to use for AP chemistry. Does anyone know of any good ones or can recommend any particularly nice books?

I like Brown, LeMay and Bursten's Chemistry: The Central Science the most. They have an interactive website that goes along with the text at http://cwx.prenhall.com/bookbind/pubbooks/blb/. I found their explanations, examples and problems to be excellent. Most schools use Zumdahl for AP, and my school did as well, but we used Brown et al. for honors. It just seemed to make much more sense and wasn't as longwinded as Z is.

Yeah, right now I can't decide whether to buy Zumdahl's or Brown, Lemay and Bursten's.

The AP Chem class at my school uses Zumdahl's. It got good reviews on AP central as well.

My class uses the Brown/Bursten

I like Raymond Chang.

My school uses Whitten-Davis-Peck-Stanley and our average is about a 4.4.....so, I'd def. recommend it (second only to our 5 AP Calc BC average, and 4.76 BC Average)
