<p>because you’re then an absentee landlord and, as a parent the biggest reason for my kids, I want them to have the flexibility to pick dorm, frat, or apartment whichever they prefer … and finally, in an mediocre housing market the financial seem less than obvious to me and certianly not worth lising felxibility.</p>

<p>Can that be made to economically work? Housing is still very expensive in SLO proper and rents have fallen quite a bit since PCV opened up. You might end up paying more in intrest, taxes and fees than you would save on rent.</p>
