Buying a Penn laptop (IBM)

I am strongly considering buying an IBM laptop from Penn because of the huge deals they offer and best of all, the 3 year warranty. I want order the laptop early so it can be shipped to my home and I can customize all the settings and such so that I am completely familiar with it by the time classes start at Penn. However, my problem is that I don’t know if they will offer a better laptop after July 1st passes by, or at least lower the price of the current model.

Does anyone know if the pricing will lower or if the laptops will be upgraded AFTER the shipping deadline? After all, there is a 2 month gap…

I ask this because I am planning on using this laptop throughout my 4 years at Penn, so I want to buy the best one possible…but the price is also a factor. I don’t want to get my laptop 2 months early, only to discover that a faster, better one is being offered like August 1st or something…

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

The price won't change and the model won't upgrade until late in the year (like march or april.) So buy now and you'll get it sometime in august :)

yea i would def get it now... i had 5 of my computer-able friends to look at the laptop and they said im getting an amazing deal on it.. (aka they were jealous) so i ordered mine today... def get it

I didn't buy through Penn last year, but I was curious to see what they were offering this year... and I'm blown away. Those IBM laptops are incredible computers at absolutely incredible prices. I'm very jealous.

I just ordered one and the lock - i decided to get the docking station at newegg since it was 80 dollars less

On penn's computer connection website, they only show the discounted IBMs. It says that you can get a discount if you get a Dell laptop too, but I was wondering if it's as good as a deal as the IBM package. so...does penn basically give the same discount for ibm and dell? ive always kinda had a preference for dells, but does it make sense to get the ibm? i cant decide what to do...help!

I think ibm laptops are better, but if you want a dell you should probably use this deal

wow, that deal is amazing! ahhh i cant decide what to do!

yeah i agree with megamike last yaer the dells are not as good as the IBMs. I def regret not going with penn's ibm deal. So i say go for the penn ibm deals - btw dell laptops ****ing suck. For laptops either go with the ibm or a mac (although not my personal fave)
