<p>i was just wondering how freshmen (minors) buy beer or hard liquor during college? would i needa get a fake ID or do stores in college towns just not card?</p>
<p>you get people to buy you the liquor, or if anything a fake will do. and most of the college town stores card hard so just be careful</p>
<p>um just go into the store and buy the stuff. ive never seen a store owner at least in the bronx ask for ID. ive seen 14 year olds comingout with a 24 case of bear.</p>

<p>Well around here they tend to card everybody regardless of how old you might look. If you want beer best chance is to get somebody over 21 to buy it.</p>

<p>more and more places are getting more harsh with fakes, ESPECIALLY in college towns. it's not worth getting caught.</p>
<p>yeah man if u must get a fake, make sure its not from a state like New york or california- owners are trained to spot those- get one that says ur from montana or wyoming or some boring state</p>
<p>Fake IDs are useless in the 21st century. College towns are the worst with busting fakes and carding people. Most stores have electronic readers to run IDs through that can tell if its fake or not. The only way to get alcohol in college towns is to get someone over 21 to buy it for you, or get an ID of someone who looks like you and is over 21.</p>
<p>or spend the money for an ID that will work with a scanner. My friend has one for Delaware, but i think it cost him at least 160.</p>
<p>You could also get a fake foreign ID, since no one knows what they look like. That's what my friend has (although he is actually an international from the country of his ID)</p>

<p>yeah, if you're willing to spend some money you can get an aazingly good fake. four years ago my HS had a scandal where two sophomores were making insanely good fake's to the point where they had it rigged up to scan and even cops coulnd't tell them apart. They eventually got caught when someone got arrested and they found two id's in his wallet. They made an insane amount of money with it.</p>
<p>in texas, fakes that scan cost around $150. you just have to go to some college and ask around and within a few minutes you can find someone that knows someone that knows someone that can make one. my friend eventually had his cut up though at the liquor store so you never know.</p>

<p>It is a misdemeanor or at least a petty misdemeanor to BUY or SELL alcohol to folks under 21 & police departments do sting operations from time to time. The penalty for the store employee is about $1000 (at least in HI) & the minor gets the conviction listed on his/her CRIMINAL record. Please think long & hard about this--carrying fake ID is also a crime & carries heavy penalties as well.</p>
<p>I know it seems like a lark, but getting a criminal record and/or getting your friend to have a criminal record is something to think about. Penalties for petty misdemeanors or misdemeanors can involve a substantial fine (like up to $1000 or more) &/or jail time (30 days to 1 year). I've seen folks under 21 get "busted," as well as folks who sold alcohol to them. It's not pretty & an expensive lesson.</p>
<p>Also, having an open container of alcohol in a car is a crime as well, as is drinking in a public place. OK, I'm sure more than enough said.</p>
<p>I can't imagine why someone would waste money on a fake and risk getting caught when you live by thousands of legal age college students more than happy to buy alcohol.</p>

<p>michigan fakies man. my phucking thing is busted as all hell and has never failed me. give em the old laundary story or gettin pushed into a pool. get one that scans if you can, could make all the difference.</p>
<p>Just make friends with someone who is over 21. Simple. Buy enough to last you at least a week or two, rinse and repeat.</p>
<p>You go to the dep and buy some. It's as simple as that. Now if you're evil you can take some inspiration from Les Bougon.</p>

<p>unfortunately, there will always be an upperclassman around to buy alcohol and drugs for you, as long as you have the money. this will be the least of your freshman year concerns...</p>
