Buying Books: Neds vs. Cal Student Store vs. Other Places

Any recommendations based on price, availability, etc.?

Is it cheaper to buy used books from one of these stores? From students directly? From Amazon?

Any additional suggestions, advice, etc., will be gladly read.

Thanks! =D

Try to buy your books online from amazon or half.com. The prices are way more competitive. Also try to sell them online too, because you’ll get way more money that way

personally I don’t buy from bookstore (except, you know, some notebook). Buy from other students who took the class will be the best. so u can get it fast. do not sell ur book online if possible because these website do charge some fee

comegetused.com

and

uloop.com

Both are sites designed specifically for Cal students to buy/sell textbooks.

Do not buy at Ned’s/Student Store unless that’s your last option.

What about the ASUC Bookswap? Is that a good source? Or is that just buying used from the bookstore? I didn’t really understand what it did.

The ASUC Bookswap is just when you can buy from other students or trade or whatever.
