buying books online

thx for the links hibiscuspink, I saw that thread also but it was talking about 31b textbook and i wasn't sure I could assume the same for 31a thats why I wanted to make sure... for the oxtoby book, boelter posted what was included in the book package but given a pretty big price difference(well 50 dollars) I wanted to make sure those 2 are the same book... moldau, are you sure scerri's 20a class don't need textbook? because when I logged onto the bookstore page it said I needed the oxtoby chem book...

I don't understand why bruinwalk's books sell for a lot less

Well it's obvious, people don't need the money immediately and the books sit on the system.

They are probably of an older edition. The problem with Bruinwalk is that sellers don't check emails, where the notifications are sent. I suggest a mass offer sending in one sitting for a book of interest.

I think I decided to buy those 2 books off amazon since its significantly cheaper but since no one can tell me if I got the right books then I wonder what happens if I got the wrong book... do I need to buy the right ones? I think the instructions and material should be the same but like the excersizes and problems could be different as I learned from different versions of highschool textbooks...

Well, you can call UCLA Store to ask about the ISBN#'s. Hibipink posted something about this. Otherwise, you can email the professor to see which edition and if an older one would be OK. http://www.directory.ucla.edu

yeah I got an email from the chem teacher so the chem book is set... i'll just have to check on the calculus book
