Ok, so I'm buying a Macbook for college. regular, pro, idk yet. But that's irrelevant. I've got 3 questions.

1) If we buy it through the Cornell apple store, where you submit the custom proposal and then it has to be ordered through the Cornell rep, can you still get the free iPod or whatever "back to school" promo they will have this summer?

2) If you buy it now, or during summer, will they ship it to you, or do you have to wait utnil you get to Cornell and pick it up at the store?

3) Say I had excess scholarship money that covered my loans and work study and my contribution, and was starting to cut into grants. Could I charge the laptop to my student account and use some scholarship money to help pay for the computer?

Thanks. I'm trying to figure it out because if we're not gonna get to use scholarship money or the promo deals, then I'll just get it now so I can play with it. Haha. Otherwise I don't mind waiting a while.

I know you can do #3, if you have enough scholarships that your grant aid is being reduced.

^ Sweet!!! I doubt I’ll get enough but you never know… I just found that you can have it shipped to you, so now all I need is #1. Do we get the free iPod or printer rebate or whatever?

For those buying new computers. If you want to put Microsoft Office suite on it, this is the best deal you will find anywhere. Much better than the Teacher/Student version which I saw for $139.00 at the Cornell Store when I was there.

Another reason to wait till later to get your laptop, is that Apple will probably release new/updated laptops before we get to Cornell.

I am hoping that they will release a nice little netbook, because I think that would be perfect for taking to class.

ummm…i thought scholarships don’t count towards summer contribution?..lol

^^^^^They technically don’t. But if you get enough of them that they reduce your grant aid, then it would be used to offset summer contribution, if you wish to get your financial aid award readjusted.
