hey, i've been thinking....would it be better to go out in the blizzard to buy groceries or order them with 2 day-shipping online? like, sometimes during finals I like to buy 5 packs of redbull and 10 packs of ramen noodles and i do bulk ordering.

I'd definitely just buy at Ithaca. I remember when I visited, there was a big grocery store near collegetown and you could take the shuttle bus to go there.

If thats all you need, theres Wilson Farms and Jason's in Collegetown and convenience store-like places (Bear Necessities and Jansen's) on North and West campuses. Or just take a bus directly to Tops next to the mall.

Wilson Farms is convenient if you live in West/C-town, though it has been robbed recently. I wouldn't go there late at night.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's Jason's? I thought it was a bar type of establishment but not even sure about its exact location. Is it a grocery store too?

why the hell do people think a blizzard happens 7 days a week at Cornell? There was a total of 1 day last year when it wasn't really a good idea to go out for a drive.

Jason's is a convenience/grocery store in Collegetown. Wilson Farms is closer though if you're coming from campus. And trust me Wilson Farms is still pretty safe, one robbery doesn't mean anything.

I've never bought them online before but I'm leaving it open as an option

If you dont have a car, it means you can only buy as much as you can carry on the bus/walk home with, plus I hate ALL cold weather whether its a blizzard or not so I will possibly buy them online. I've never done it thoughh so I can't comment on the service.

I've been bussing/bumming rides from friends all summer and it has only been a problem when buying large things like toilet paper and you buy the huge bonus pack and then are struggling to carry the damn thing home along with other groceries.

You only have to buy toilet paper if you live off-campus. You will only need one roll of paper towels if you want to clean your own room. If you live in the dorms, space is limited, so don't buy huge quantities of anything (except for bottled water, which you can store under your bed).

I assumed the OP would be off campus... otherwise agreed, if you are on campus there really is no need to be going to Tops/wegmans. You can buy ramen/red bull in RPU which is on north campus.
