Buying SAT Prep Book. Princeton Review or Kaplan? Buying it in 20 minutes!

Really fast...I am gonna buy a either of these books in about twenty minutes.

Should I buy the Princeton Review with DVD, 2009? (or is the DVD not worth it?)

Or the Kaplan SAT book?

Which of both? (or there's one that's better than either?)

I mainly need help in Critical Reading.

I would go with Kaplan, I usually like their other guides.

Good luck! So glad we don't have school tomorrow; I can do a full length practice test(s)!!!! haha :P

For CR I actually prefer PR over Kaplan. You don't need the DVD - it will either have extra info you don't need or practice that isn't identical to the exam.

If you can, get Barron's for good CR review and/or College Board's own SAT Study Guide which has actual tests - practice can't get better than that.

I know...gonna work hard tomorrow. Thanks!

Anyone else got more suggestions?!

So, you'd say Barron is better for CR over PR or Kaplan? (I already have College board's)

Grammatix is best for cr.

I liked Princeton Review best.

I like mozzarella sticks.

Doesn't this forum have a policy where only people ages 8+ can join?

Well if you can, get both Barron's and PR. Each has their strengths in their methods for the CR section. I say Barron's over PR, but it's really a matter of personal preference. If you can, take a look yourself, or check out the first chapter (or other chapter) at Amazon or a similar site and see which one appeals to you. Of course, if you want vocab, Barron's has a nice long list of words and roots to study. (Roots I think are more helpful since they help you figure out what unknown words you've never seen before mean.) If you're looking for the PR's Hit Parade of vocab, you can (legally) get the full list of words and definitions here:

Mozzarella sticks are quite tasty, but sadly, they won't increase your SAT score, only your cholesterol.
