Buying SAT prep books?

Hey CC--I'm a little confused right now and would appreciate any help.

I'm trying to prepare for the SAT and I've found a couple books that could help me: The Official SAT Study Guide, 2nd edition, and The Official Study Guide for All SAT Subject Tests, 2nd Ed. Which of these books should I get? I'm leaning toward the Study Guide for All SAT Subject Tests since it was published more recently.

I also wanted to get the Princeton Review's Cracking the SAT in conjunction with one of the former two. Is this advisable?

Lastly, I was wondering where to buy the books to get them cheapest.

My apologies if this thread is in the wrong category. Thanks in advance!

The book you want is the Official SAT Study Guide. There is a difference between the SAT and the SAT subject tests. The only similarity between the subject tests and the SAT is the name.

As for the PR book … no (an unequivocal no). There are better books on the market - e.g. Barron’s or Gruber’s.

Haha the subject test book is for SAT tests on specific subjects, you want the other one like IceQube said. Also I like barrons for a supplemental book

kaplan is super funny. Read it. I promise you… You will find at least 5 mistakes. (:

Thanks, IceQube! Are there any specific books by those publishers that you could recommend?

Thanks for all the help, guys. (:
