Buzzport Fin Aid

Anybody know when it comes out? I know it's supposed to come out sometime this week, but if anybody has a more finite time post a reply please

Yea I wanna know too. I applied for financial aid and haven’t received mine yet.
Anyone knows where & when we can find out about Tech’s financial aid package?

It’s out now. Just log into Buzzport

Mine is not there. I guess not all are released at the same time. I am in-state if that matters. I am guessing they have to wait on Hope information?

@Midhelper: On Buzzport, where do you click to view it? =.=" can’t find it anywhere…

I just got an email telling me my financial aid info was available. Its accessable via buzzport (the admitted freshmen tab)

In the “Accepted Freshman” tab, is the financial aid info in “My Award letter”?

When I clicked on it, I got “this info is not yet available”, and I haven’t got any email about financial aid yet. So I suppose they are not all released at the same time. I’m in-state resident btw.

Once you click on the award letter tab you go to a new screen. Then you have to choose 2012-2013 year to see anything.

My letter was there this evening. Got just enough GT Grant aid to keep Tech in the running. Now big decisions to make. Surprised I didn’t get any work-study all other schools gave that, but will be glad to just work on classes instead.

Hi, I also received Fin Aid today, but only $7500/year. Anybody know if Engineer School or ME department also give merit schoolarship? Should I contact the department or school FAO?

I still haven’t got my financial aid yet =/ When I click on 2012-2013 year, I get “info is not yet available”. I’m in-state resident btw.

For those who have received financial aid package, are you guys from out of state?

Yes, out of state

I just got my financial aid letter on buzzport (it’s coming out in waves, you’ll get an e-mail when yours comes out so there’s not point in continuous checking! lol).

So I’m a bit confused, for old students or people who already got their letters, what the the total cost that you have to end up paying?!

I am out of state, my EFC was calculated to be 404 dollars, but Tech offered a package that covers all of cost of attendance by including loans of course (and gave 10k gift aid). So I really have to pay nothing other than some mandatory fees up front. Needless to say, we will not be borrowing anything we can afford to pay.

tma585: you mean after 10k gift, besides WS, there are about 25k all kinds of loan to cover total need?

anyone know if each department has their own Scholarship could apply or offer to new entering freshmen?

Yes. I was given the pell grant, FSEOG (federal supplemental education opportunity grant) and a GT “scholarship for undergraduates”. That totaled 10k for 2 semesters. As for loans, majority (about 19k) was parent PLUS, several thousand in stafford (subsidized and unsubsidized), and another 3 or 4 thousand in the James Lindsey loan (given by tech at a rate of 7.5% interest and no interest accrues until out of school).

Thanks, tma585. That’s nice to get Pell Grant!
