BW is my first choice school. I have heard that it has amazing vocal training, but how is the acting training? What about dance? I just want to make sure it is a well-rounded program.

I dont know much about BW's acting training, but when I auditioned there on November 15, everyone at the school, including the students and even Vicky Bussert herself! (the head of the program) were very open about their dance program. They all said they are aware it is weak compared to other musical theatre schools, but they are hoping to revamp it in up coming years.

BW is my first choice as well. There program is phenominal :)

Ok, dance is the least important to me, but acting is really important. Good luck to you!

Acting is highly emphasized in the program. You learn straight acting technique from Scott Plate and Acting a song technique from Vicky Bussert every semester. On top of that, we take all the acting classes offered through the theatre program which includes seminar classes that offer a different subject every semester. For example next semester the seminar class is focused on comedic timing and physicality. So the acting training here is very good. We are trained to be musical theatre actors NOT just musical theatre singers.

On the subject of the dance her at BW, it is beginning to be revamped. From what I have heard, the dance program is being moved from the Health and Phys Ed dept to the Theatre dept. So I believe that that will help the program immensely.
