by category enrollment?

so i'm trying to take a class that lets students enroll "by category"

i know that this means seniors -> frosh will get priority

it's a 15 student class and 10 currently enrolled

i registered for this class when it had 9 and i was put on the waiting list (4)

i will be a soph this fall but credit-wise, i'm a junior

how likely is it that i will eventually get into this class? this is my first time dealing with "by category" enrollment

It's difficult to predict waitlist chances, especially for a smaller class. It would depend on what category the other waitlisted students are in. Your best best is to attend the first day of class on time. Your professor will advise you from there as to how many students can be taken off of the waitlist and any other details on enrollment procedures. And as always, have a backup course ready.

Which/what class is this?

it's japanese c115. it's not even full right now. 10/15 enrolled, 5 on the waitlist, and i'm #4 on it.
i'm guessing that the prof is waiting for more seniors to possibly sign up to let them in first, then jrs, soph, frosh, but that's just a guess.

This particular class will only enroll Japanese Language Majors currently. Non-Japanese majors will enter the waitlist. Since, the waitlist is manual, no one can be sure how they will take students off of the waitlist.
