by god this is a terrifying day.

getpsyched getpsyched get psyched.

off to first test of the day (8.022). wish me luck. :|

Yeah, my friend David was up studying for that. Good luck!

My son is taking that today. Good luck. Let us all know how it was when you finish. Thanks

:(

well f me, there were CAPACITOR ON PULLEYS

I did not study for a 8.012 exam I studied for an 8.022 exam.

CAPACITOR ON PULLEYS

You MUST be joking!!:D

actually yeah you're right that's not true.

there should be an "S" at the end of "c-a-p-a-c-i-t-o-r" in that sentence as there was more than one capacitor hanging off that two-pulley system.

MY BAD.

haha pebbles...MIT IS TOTALLY WEIRED!! Good luck

What was the problem?

it'll be online in a couple of days, I could link it if you remind me

AHA.

the average grade on the 8.022 test was a 49.

no wonder they call .012/.022 versions of courses the "on crack" versions...

Good news and bad news. I got nearly (very nearly) the same grade on both 8.022 and 6.001 tests. The 6.001 test average was in the high 70s.

Anyway the tests are up (with solutions) if anyone is curious.

You 8.022 people are nuts. I don't know why you'd ever take that class unless you wanted to be a physics major?

Maybe if you were feeling too good about yourself?

(I do half want to be a physics major...)

But guys, physics is awesome

Yeah...I love E&M! If only I could take it :).

BTW, what are the extra labs you guys get to do? Also, where can one find the exam?

our labs are TEAL in color :) basically you just fidget around with some capacitors/circuits/w.tf else attached to the computer. We do get to wreak havoc on the TEAL rooms though.

The quiz is here: http://web.mit.edu/8.022/www/quiz/S06-Q1.pdf

the solution is here: http://web.mit.edu/8.022/www/quiz/S06-Q1-sol.pdf

By the way I got totally violated by problem 4. Beware of vector calculus.

how much time did u get to take that?

not enough.

1.5 hours or so.

At Caltech, we did these problems... they were on the easy section of our weekly quiz in comparative literature! While walking uphill both ways in the Pasadena snow.

:-P sits quietly as pebbles beats me to shreds with a pulley-capacitor system

Kidding, kidding. 8.022 seems like a good course. Glad you're enjoying yourself, pebbles : )
