I check my application status. It still indicates that my application is compelete…I do not apply before Dec 1th…

Hey! Am I already late for applying? Just got SAT score (CR 480, M 690, WR 620).
I am going to play college tennis for a university like this.

^Final deadline was February 1 for Fall 2010, so you are too late to apply

My friend got denied and called in. Apparently they had so many people w/ decent GPA’s, that they had to base a lot of their decision [if not all] on ACT scores. Kinda sad for people who don’t feel confident w/ their scores.
But yeah apparently most people with scores below a 28 were not admitted.
Wowsa.

WOW! a 28 and above!!! thats intense. well that makes byu more competitive which is good but now i’m a bit worried about scholarships. oh well…only a couple more weeks.

i just found out i got the Monson!!! I can stop worrying!!! good luck everyone :)

^^ What were your stats? Just wondering. Anyways, congrats!!!

I found out becuse BYU emailed me to say scholarships were given out and to check my financial center through route Y. Then it said monson scholarship for 8 semesters.

I got a 35 on the ACT, 4.0 GPA, volunteering, job, piano, etc. Hope this helps! :)

Ah ok. I got a 30 on the ACT and I have a 3.84 GPA… I have some ECs also. Hmmm… Would that even be able to get me a half-semester scholarship?

i don’t know, you just have to check. in the past, a 30 got you a half scholarship but i know they changed it this year…i’m not sure about the cut-off now. Good Luck though!

I got accepted already…but still wondering between BYU and UH, i don’t like UH…but it TX has huge opportunities for me to live…i don’t know

UH? Which school is that? Maybe write a list of the pros and cons of both school and do some serious reflection over it. Are you LDS?

I would not attend BYU unless you are mormon or plan to convert. For any incoming non-mormons I would do thorough research so you know what to expect from the culture of the student body.

Question: Is it a bad thing to be LDS but want to stay away from BYU as much as possible? Hahahaha

Not really, if you don’t like being surrounded by members of your own faith in an incredible academic setting.

I turned down Caltech, U Chicago, Wake Forest, and UNC - Chapel Hill for BYU. And I know it’s the right choice

^I would have to agree with you 100% on that one
