BYU Math Courses: Your experience?

I’m probably going to be taking the BYU math courses for Algebra 2 (both parts) and Trigonometry (also both parts). So I’ll be taking ALG 055, ALG 057, TRIG 041 and TRIG 043. I’m planning on taking the online course for all of them.
Some questions I have:

-Are there regular tests that need to be taken in person? If so, how often are tests typically taken? It says that there’s just one exam, so I’m guessing there aren’t any, but I wanted to check.
-Class structure: The website says “Students engage in our courses with the use of diverse videos, computerized labs, interactive activities, instructor tutorials, and animated clips” but what does that really mean?

-Work Load: How much work is expected, and what types?
-Prerequisites: Are the prerequisites suggestions or requirements? As in, do you need to provide proof of completely prerequisites? I could probably take ALG 055 and TRIG 041 together without much difficulty because I know a lot of of the material for these courses already.
-I sort of covered this with previous questions but I’ll state it explicitly: Is taking multiple courses at once doable?

Also, I’ve heard some criticism of BYU’s math courses for being unclear, incorrect, or otherwise lacking. Is this true?

I already know a good deal of the material for the first three courses, but I need official credit to skip the course through my school (I’m fairly sure that the material in TRIG 043 is precalc material at my school, but it certainly won’t hurt to take).

Thank you so much for your input!

Hi, I’ve just signed up for the geometry course. I haven’t started much but I know for every part (like every course) there is one proctored final exam. Obviously not a ton of work, all class work+homework is one thing.
It takes 2 months at a fast pace to complete one course.
No proof for prereqs needed (:

Thank you!

Can anybody comment on how good the math courses are? I’m kinda scared to invest in these courses since I’ve heard that they’re not very good.

hey its me again,
they’re not fantastic simply because there isn’t a real teacher teaching.
however, they definitely cover everything clearly.
there’s also plenty of help with videos and free BYU online tutoring

That’s good to know, thanks!

How did you guys do. I am thinking of having my son take it pre-calculus and economic through BYU

I didn’t end up taking the course
